LEAK FROM GARAGE ROOF HAS LED TO A LOT OF RUST IN ROOF GUTTERS, FRONT
PILLARS, REAR QUARTERS ETC. WE HAVE REPAIR PANELS FOR FACELIFT MODELS IN
STOCK, SO A LOT OF WELDING AHEAD. THE CAR HAS INPRESSIVE BRAKES FROM A
LATER SUPERCHARGED SALOON, AND HAVING A FEW CUSTOM TOUCHES IN TERMS OF
THE EXHAUST, AIR VENTS , WHEELS AND TYRES ETC.

JULY 17TH 2026 O/S REAR QUARTER TAKING SHAPE (30/11/-0001)
AFTER DEEP DE-RUSTING OF THE SILL AND INNER WING AREAS ETC,
THE REPLACEMENT QUARTER SEEMED READY TO GO ON - BUT WE HAD
SOME PANEL BEATING AND RE-SHAPING TO DO, BECAUSE THE CAR HAD
HAD SOME PANEL DAMAGE HERE PREVIOSLY, AND WE WANTED TO AVOID
THE VERY THICK SKIM OF FILLER THAT WAS APPLIED PREVIOUSLY. WE
GOT THE NEW QUARTER TACKED IN PLACE, AND NOW GOING RIGHT ROUND,
SEAM WELDING THE VARIOUS SECTIONS TO MAKE A STRONG REPAIR.

AREAS AND SILL ENDS ETC.

A LOT OF PREP WORK BEING DONE TO THE DONOR FACELIFT WINGS.
FIRST, THE UNDERSEAL REMOVED, THEN TRIMMED TO FIT THE SHAPE
OF THE OLD QUARTERS, WHICH HAVE NOW BEEN CUT ALONG THE SWAGE
LINES. THE TOP EDGES OF THE OLD SILL BEING RETAINED, SO THIS AREA
ONE OF THE SECTIONS THAT STILL NEED TO BE CLEANED AND TIDIED UP.
